LOVE OF MY LIFE
With Love of my Life I wanted to shed light on the high expectations that partners have in a relationship especially when it's new. If you are able to notice, my work took a random turn into love, lust and destruction for about 4 or 5 pieces I am not even sure how many myself but all of those pieces were inspired by one of the most intimate interactions I had in that year: I learned a lot from it and I am quiet proud of how I conducted myself then *pats self on shoulders*: anyway I'm diverging.
So back to the lessons, I figured out that when you go into an intimate interaction with little "expectation" and pride for who you are it really rubs off well, at that time I had just achieved self-love after years and years of not fully understanding what it was and I was sort of like 'this me, what I did, where I am, I am open to your critique but it will not waver me, I am proud of me' and that stance encouraged the other person to feel safe. Making someone feel secure around you is one thing that can aid to forge a great bond plus it encourages the other to mimic your actions.
I like to believe that we both accepted that none of us is "perfect" and that there was brilliance in that vulnerability, we just went with the flow of the entire experience and landed in this awesome space of "happiness" being goofy, serious, playing cat & mouse but nonetheless really happy even in the months after we tasted this "happiness on our tongues" when we spoke. I don't know if that person will ever be my significant other but "as long as" me and any other person chose to be together in that "fleeting" moment the lessons I learned will be applied and happiness will honestly be achieved.

Let us have a love of little expectation or perfection,
And we will taste happiness on our tongues,
So long as,
I am yours
And you're mine,
For this time
Fleeting as it may be.
