THE SHEDDING
Here I go
through the same phases,
chasing dreams I never work hard to fulfil,
gaps in places make me feel so empty,
an emptiness even my sweetest words cannot fill,
So, how do I heal myself? Grow they say.
I plant seeds but occasionally forget to call to the rain,
like a dried out rose I marvel at my past beauty
a time when all was hopeful,
I bloomed.
I bloomed.
Now my petals fall on a sea of green,
all around me is health & wealth, and I feel I have little to offer,
don't doubt yourself they say,
so I hold my head high and permit the shedding,
a transformation must take place,
for flux is the way of life;
shedding the old to allow the passage of the new,
Patience I tell myself,
For flowers bloom in their own time.
